Academic Calendar
A Seminary Schedule Shaped by Place and Purpose
Set at nearly 9,000 feet above sea level, our June–December schedule blends intensive summer courses, focused fall language study, and a winter term centered on real-world ministry.
Because of its location at 9,000 feet, Sangre de Cristo Seminary follows a unique June–December academic schedule.
Most summer courses are taught in one- and two-week intensives, while the fall semester follows a more traditional format with a focus on biblical languages and exegesis. During the winter term, students move in closer proximity to their chosen ministry context to translate and teach a book of the Bible.
This schedule also allows students to avoid harsh winter conditions and brings visiting professors to teach during the summer.
